Valzhyna Mort reads her poem “Belarusian I”

Valzhyna Mort, assistant professor in the College of Arts and Sciences, has won the 2021 Griffin Poetry Prize  for her 2020 book, “Music for the Dead and Resurrected.” Her book was selected from among 572 books of poetry from 14 countries, written in 18 languages. Many of the poems in the book are about her birth country, Belarus.
