The good Cornellians can do: Niels Nielsen ’83
Niels Nielsen '83 grew up loving vegetables, and in turn, used Cornell's resources to become a better gardener and give back to his community.
"During the Covid-19 pandemic, I learned how lack of access to affordable fresh food is a major problem. As the volunteer garden liaison for Rocking Horse Community Garden in Montgomery County, Maryland, I team up with HarvestShare and local food banks to address food insecurity among our neighbors. Our gardeners grow far more than we can eat, and we share beautiful fresh produce each week during the summer. "
