The good Cornellians can do: Madeleine Roglich ’18

Maddie runs past the Mercy Home cheer station in the 2024 Chicago Marathon. “It’s always very exciting to run past the cause I'm raising money for,” she says.

For the past nine years, Madeleine Roglich ’18 has run the Chicago Marathon. Each race is an opportunity for Maddie to raise funds to support the Mercy Home. This Chicago nonprofit provides at-risk youth with a support system.

After reading about the organization back in 2016, Maddie visited to see for herself what the home is all about.

“It’s a remarkable place,” she says. “They’re focused on giving kids who have faced abuse, neglect, or abandonment a safe place to live, as well as supporting kids and their families through healing.”

Later this year, Maddie will run the London Marathon and raise funds for the World Wildlife Fund. To date, she has run 15 marathons and raised over $41,000 to support causes she cares about.
