Ten computer codes that transformed science

ArXiv, an online archive of  preprint scientific papers created by professor of physics and information science Paul Ginsparg PhD ’81, has been named one of Nature's  Ten Computer Codes that Transformed Science. Now in its thirtieth year, arXiv has more than 1.8 million preprints—all available for free. The site attracts more than 15,000 submissions and about 30 million downloads per month.
