Congratulations to graduating senior Ariela Asllani ’26, winner of the Class of 1964 John F. Kennedy Memorial Award. In partnership with Ithaca Welcomes Refugees, Ariela founded the Refugee Scholars Program to help refugee and immigrant high school students prepare for college. After graduation, Ariela will pursue an M.Sc. in Refugee and Forced Migration Studies at the University of Oxford. Julia Mizutani, Cornell librarian and adjunct professor at the Law School, conducted a Know Your Rights session for Cornell students in December. The goal is to equip them with knowledge about immigration law and the basic rights of all individuals in the U.S., regardless of immigration or citizenship status.
