The War Memorial on West Campus was dedicated in 1932 and commemorates Cornell’s 264 casualties during World War I. The North tower, connected to Lyon Hall, was named Army Tower and the south, connected to McFaddin Hall, named Navy Tower.

“As a woman pursuing STEM, I was always scared that I wouldn’t have the engineering knowledge and intuition needed, but Design Build Fly gave me the opportunity to learn crucial skills and explore my interest in aviation in a supportive environment—even before I take classes in these subjects,” says Mira Ahuja ’25. Mira's team is one of 27 student groups taking part in this year’s crowdfunding burst, which runs from November 1 through December 6, 2022.
