Nia Evans ’00 helps make history

Nia Evans ’00 is the executive director of the Boston Ujima Project. The project “made history as the nation’s first democratically governed investment fund,” she says.

Ujima puts economic decision-making in the hands of community members. The organization finances small businesses, real estate, and infrastructure projects with the mission of returning wealth to working-class communities of color.
