Cornell expert Jacob Leeser advises New Yorkers to try using a vacuum cleaner to suck up invasive spotted lanternflies.

Jacob Leeser of Cornell University’s New York State Integrated Pest Management Program says a vacuum cleaner can be an effective tool in the effort to control the invasive spotted lanternflies. Lesser advises New Yorkers to bring their vacuums outdoors to suck up the lanternflies, which pose a threat to crops like grapevines.
