Fighting COVID-19 misinformation on TikTok

Asher Williams, presidential postdoctoral fellow (CBE) at Cornell, is one of the scientists trying to fight COVID-19 misinformation on TikTok.

Asher is part of Team Halo, a group of scientists who also serve as social media influencers. According to the group’s website, Team Halo was established as part of the United Nations’ Verified initiative with The Vaccine Confidence Project at the University of London’s School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Since they started last summer, Team Halo-tagged videos have been viewed more than 80 million times on TikTok alone.
