Cornell launches new lecture series: “Unmasking the Chinese Communist Party”
This spring, Cornell is launching a curated lecture series titled, “Unmasking the Chinese Communist Party and Society in Post-1949 China.” The inaugural lecture on March 7 features Professor Andrew Walder from Stanford University, who will examine the rise and fall of the Maoist revolutionary state from 1949 to 1976.
This new lecture series involves many partners across Cornell—in an effort to foster a comprehensive understanding of Chinese history, politics, and society. Sponsors include The Einaudi Center, the East Asia Program, Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management, the Department of History, the Society for Humanities, Cornell External Education, eCornell, the Department of Government, and the Department of Asian Studies.
