Faculty member Paul Maza was honored for his work with FARVets, which involves students in helping to control animal overpopulation.

Paul Maza, associate professor of practice in Cornell University's College of Veterinary Medicine, founded Feral, Abandoned, Rescued animals Veterinarians (FARVets) in 2010. Since then, veterinary students have been helping FARVets to address dog and cat overpopulation through spay-neuter-vaccination clinics—offered locally, nationally, and internationally. Maza won a 2025 Community-Engaged Practice and Innovation Award from the Einhorn Center for Community Engagement.
