Cornell Crisis Advice Project
In April 2020, researchers at the Cornell Institute for Translational Research on Aging launched the Cornell Crisis Advice Project. The goal is to encourage elders—many of whom have lived through wars, previous epidemics, and financial crises—to share their good advice for how to survive the pandemic with young people.
Read some of the pearls of wisdom that have been submitted, including “remember one's social graces.” This contributor shares lessons learned from her family, including her great-great-grandmother who traveled from Sweden to North Dakota in 1890 to marry a stranger and live in a sod house.
