Cornell Cares unites Cornellians for more than 40 service projects worldwide
Twice a year, Cornellians gather to do the greatest good through acts of service with Cornell Cares. From January 10–24, 2026, alumni organized 41 projects spanning 15 states and 5 countries.
This year's projects tackled a range of initiatives that reflected local community needs, including:
- 27 helping at food banks or creating meals for the community
- 5 assisting with winter clothing donations
- 3 volunteering at animal rescue facilities (including one just for house rabbits!)
- 2 aiding local libraries and local reading initiatives
- 2 caring for the local environment (1 educating about environmental issues through birdwatching)
- 1 engaging with local senior citizens
- ... Cornellians in Australia will soon be supporting individuals and families impacted by cancer at a local cricket match!
In total, the winter program saw 36 national events across the U.S. (including DC) and 5 international programs in Australia, Canada, India, Taiwan, and the UK. Cornell Cares continues year-round, connecting Cornellians who want to make a difference in their local communities.
