As the days become shorter and colder in the winter, our bodies may require more rest. After all, in nature mammals hibernate and plants become dormant. Yet, most humans maintain their busy pace throughout the winter. Yoga can help us to slow down and downregulate our nervous systems so that we can preserve our energy and gain resilience. In this 50-minute class, we will focus on breathing techniques and movements that allow us to restore vitality to our bodies so that we can thrive. Suitable for all levels, including beginners, this class will help you to relieve stress and discover internal resources for the winter season.

The instructor:
Shayna Skarf (E-RYT-200, PhD) discovered her passion for yoga over 20 years ago in India. She studied with Ana Forrest, completing the Foundation Teacher Training in 2014, the Advanced Teacher Training in 2017, and a Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher Training with Exhale to Inhale in 2018. Shayna relishes working with all levels, ages and shapes and firmly believes yoga is for everyBODY. She has taught in women’s shelters, high schools, corporate offices, and community centers and currently teaches online studio and private yoga. She considers this work to be not only a profession, but a sacred calling and is honored to share the gifts of yoga with her students.
