Join Cornell alums aboard the RiverQuest, a 64′ eco-tour private charter that will take us to a special spot on the Connecticut River near Essex to view the aerial synchronized ballet of half a million or more Tree Swallows for the better part of an hour before they settle into the reeds for the night. On-board Naturalist(s) will educate us on the Tree Swallow phenomenon and all of the other wildlife we will see.

Don’t miss the boat! Meet at 5:15 pm at the Connecticut River Museum-Steamboat Dock, 67 Main Street, Essex, CT 06426. The boat leaves promptly at 5:30 pm.

Cost: $60/person. Includes admission to the Connecticut River Museum (open 12-5).

Feel free to bring your own refreshments (beer and wine permitted) or dine in the Essex area after the cruise.

Directions: 
Do not use GPS. Instead, please note the following directions:
From Interstate 91, take Exit 22 (CT Route 9 South). Take CT Route 9 South (26 miles) to Exit 3 (Soon to be Exit 4) – CT-154 toward CT-153/Essex/Westbrook, Turn left onto CT-154 S/Middlesex Ave, Turn left onto West Ave, Turn right to stay on West Ave, Turn right onto Main St, Destination will be on the left.

From Interstate 95, take Exit 69 (CT Route 9 North). Take CT Route 9 North to Exit 3 (Soon to be Exit 4) – CT-154 toward CT-153/Essex/Centerbrook, Turn left onto CT-154 N/Middlesex Ave/Saybrook Rd, Turn right onto West Ave, Turn right to stay on West Ave, Turn right onto Main St, Destination will be on the left.

There is additional parking available on the Samuel Lay House Lawn which can be accessed 2 driveways up from the Museum.
