The Cornell Club of Greater Philadelphia is pleased to announce our second annual BIG Red Gala, in commemoration of our Founders’ Day, taking place at The Liberty View – located on the roof of the Philadelphia Visitors Center, overlooking our iconic Independence Hall.
After the incredible success of last year, we are extending the event from 3 hours to 4 hours, offering a seated steak dinner (with seafood and vegan options available), and renting a tent for the western facing terrace. This will allow us to accommodate more people, enjoy a beautiful sunset wine-hour, and hold dancing, desserts, and the auction under enchanting twinkle-lights across from Philadelphia’s most iconic sights.
The total value of each ticket is over $270, but due to our fundraising efforts this year, the Club can offer two young alumni tables $125 per person, and general admission at $200 per person.
Once again, Jason Malumed of MFW Wine Co. will be sponsoring the Wine Hour Hour, Dr. Konstantine Frank Winery will be sponsoring the auction and proving wine for the dinner hour, Santa Familia Tequila will offer a new specialty cocktail and Saxbys will once again be collaborating with Stateside for those popular Cold Brew Martinis that kept everyone going last year!
As this is seated dinner, all tickets must be purchased by April 25th so that we finalize our order with the caterer.
If you are able, we encourage you to check out our tiered tickets, which begin at $1000 for two tickets and include your name in the program and access to our afterparty. We believe that it has never been more critical to show up for students.
Note: We understand that these costs are prohibitive to some of our members. The Cornell Club of Greater Philadelphia is an Independent 501c3 Organization, which is operated by volunteer alumni. Last year we had a few cancelations, and were able to offer a few reduced-price last minute tickets. If you would like to be on our cancelation list or donate to off-set the ticket of a fellow alum please email cmt73@cornell.edu with your name, email, and class year.
Our Goal
Philadelphia remains one of the most financially disadvantaged large cities in the country. Over the past few years, we have seen a significant increase in need from our local students and so we are continuing this campaign to be able to increase our scholarship giving amounts.
In 2024, because of the success of this gala, we were able, for the first time to provide every Philadelphia-area student, who qualified for a needs-based scholarship, with financial support. And we were able to significantly increase the amount we are able to give to better align with the increased cost of attendance and inflation.
We are hoping, with your help, to do this again in 2025!
The Cornell Club of Philadelphia has been hard at work this past year to make this night happen! Through our event proceeds and raffle baskets, we have been able to subsidize the event to make this as cost inclusive as possible.
Our venue is handicap accessible and ample parking is located nearby.
