Angela Cheng-Cimini ILR 92, CHRO Harvard Business Publishing 


Angela joined Harvard Business Publishing as CHRO in 2021. She brings 30 years of experience across multiple sectors and company life stages, spearheading efforts to develop a talent roadmap that supports the business strategy and creates a deeply engaged and diverse workforce. In addition to sitting on the Alumni Board of Directors for Cornell University, she is a member of CNBC’s Workforce Executive Council, a body of CHROs dedicated to advancing the practice of HR; is Board Director for the T. Howard Foundation, an organization dedicated to increasing diversity in the media industry; and serves as an advocate for the AAPI community for several nonprofits. Read more on LinkedIn

Anna Kawar A&S ’06, National Director, Quality Improvement & Impact, Boys & Girls Clubs of America 

 

Anna Kawar, MBA, MPP, is a quality improvement expert, coach, consultant, and teacher.  She has spent the last two decades teaching leaders and teams across healthcare, education, and youth development to use systems thinking, user-centered design, and improvement science for broader and deeper impact. Anna started her career with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement in Boston, and, after earning her MPP and MBA from Duke University, joined the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching in California. Anna currently serves as the National Director, Quality Improvement & Impact at the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. In this role, Anna leads BGCA’s national strategy for improving the Boys & Girls Club Experience and outcomes for youth, teens, families, and communities. In her free time, Anna enjoys meditation retreats, riding her motorcycle, traveling, hosting dinner parties, and staying active. Read more on LinkedIn

     

 

Dr. Debra Stern ’87, P’27 is the founder and Executive Director of Amani Public Charter School in Mt. Vernon, NY. Debra has dedicated over two decades to advancing educational equity through her high-performing institution designed to combat the effects of school segregation on Black children. Her dissertation, “Forty Acres and a School,” provides a roadmap for establishing schools as vehicles for racial empowerment. As chair of the Cornell University Council and active alumna, she fosters meaningful connections within the Cornell community. A Westchester resident, she is married to Charles and is mother to three children, balancing her educational leadership with her love for family, reading, and Broadway shows.
