Museum of the Everglades Manager Thomas Lockyear will share stories of pirates, cutthroats and brigands who operated off Florida’s coast as well as the basics of pillaging, plundering, and how to survive life aboard a pirate ship. Did you ever want to know the difference between a pirate and a privateer? Did you ever wonder if Panther Key hermit Juan Gomez was really the infamous pirate Gasparilla? What about whether or not Black Caesar really kept captives on the island of Captiva? We’ll have the answers to these questions and many more during the luncheon.
We will offer a three-course lunch with wonderful choices. The price, including food, tax and gratuity is $45.
