Dinner and talk by Neil Best, Sportswriter
Brought to you by the Cornell Club of Monmouth & Ocean Counties

Please join us for a presentation by Neil Best ’82, a professional sportswriter for 43 years, as he discusses how changes in technology, culture, media and money have altered the ways in which sports figures interact with those who cover them. Neil will be available for a Q&A after his talk and is open to any and all sports-related topics. His recent expertise is in sports media, including the rapid evolution from traditional broadcast and cable television coverage of games to live streaming and the headaches it is causing fans.

Neil worked briefly at Newsday right out of college, then for two years in Anchorage, Alaska. Since 1985 he has been at Newsday, specializing for five years in New York City high school sports, then for five years on St. John’s and Big East basketball, then for 10 years on the New York Giants, and for the past 20 years on sports media matters. He lives in Belmar, N.J., with his wife Paula. The younger of his two daughters, Simone, is a Cornell Class of 2019 graduate.
