Event Details

You’re invited to hear Pamela Morris, Ph.D. (B.A. Cornell ’85) and Russell Toll, Ph.D. discuss mental health issues and different treatment modalities. Dr. Morris worked as a Psychologist in the federal prison system for 24 years, and has been in private practice for six years in Fort Worth.

Dr. Toll (Compassion Neuroscience) has a Ph.D. in bioengineering from Stanford University and performs TMS for patients with treatment resistant depression. After graduating from West Point, he served as a combined armor-infantry platoon leader in Iraq’s Diyala River Valley. He is an assistant professor of psychiatry at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. The two speakers will discuss current trends in mental health as well as different treatment modalities, to include EEG (Electroencephalography), TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) and ketamine therapy.

Through real-world examples and simple explanations, we’ll explore how various treatment modalities and technologies are being used to better understand attention, mood, memory, and mental health, and what that might mean for everyday life.  No technical background is required – just curiosity about how the mind works.
