Tuesday, August 7thStrategies for Success When Building an Organization

The Cottagers, Inc., 57 Pequot Avenue, Oak Bluffs

Spend the morning with Michael Huyghue ’84, a widely regarded and prominent figure in the professional sports industry with a career that spans over 30 years.  Mr. Huyghue is also the author of Behind the Line of Scrimmage: Inside the Front Office of the NFL, a former Cornell trustee and council member.  Drawing on his experience and expertise, he will share strategies for success when building an organization and discuss how race affects the careers of African Americans, women and other people of color.

Music, Politics, and Social Movements in the US

Union Chapel, 35 Narragansett Avenue (corner of Kennebec and Samoset Avenues)

Join Kevin K. Gaines, W.E.B. Du Bois professor of Africana Studies and History and Penny M. Von Eschen, L. Sanford and Jo Mills Reis Professor of Humanities at the historic Union Chapel for a presentation on “Music, Politics and Social Movements in the US” followed by Q&A. This lecture is also open to Martha’s Vineyard community members.

Bring your family and friends for a day at the beach. Bring your towels, chairs, umbrellas, etc. Food and beverage service will be 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.  You are welcome to arrive earlier and stay later.
  • $40 per adult, $15 per child – includes a BBQ lunch with vegetarian option, a signature cocktail and soft drinks
