Celebrate Earth Day with the Cornell Club of Pittsburgh amidst the vibrant Forbes and Fifth Corridor Downtown as we explore the crown jewel of green buildings in Pittsburgh, The Tower at PNC Plaza.
Opened in October 2015, The Tower at PNC Plaza rises to a height of 544 feet and contains over 600,000 square feet of floor area. It is one of the greenest high rises in the world and exceeds LEED Platinum certification standards. With numerous green features including a double-skin facade, water reuse system, roof solar panel, and locally sourced and recycled building materials, the Tower is able to operate in a net-zero energy state up to 1/3 of the year!
Due in part to the Tower serving as the global headquarters of PNC Financial Services, a member of the company has graciously agreed to lead a personal and exclusive tour after business hours, granting our Club insight into Downtown’s newest high rise that few others will have the privilege to see.
The tour will begin on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at 6:30 PM in the lobby of The Tower at PNC Plaza, located at 300 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15222. Parking is available 1-2 blocks away in all four directions at the Market Square Garage, Third Avenue Garage, Forbes Garage, and Oliver Garage. The Tower is accessible from the “Wood Street” T station and numerous Port Authority bus routes.
