Exploring the Bowhead Whale Feeding Hotspot near Pt. Barrow, Alaska
Dr. Carin Jessica Ashjian ’82 is a Senior Scientist and Biology Department Chair at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. Her fieldwork of 15 years has focused on using small research vessels to understand why bowhead whales reliably pause near Pt. Barrow during their fall migration from the Canadian Beaufort Sea to the Bering Sea. She will describe this work and discuss the results of this important research.
This year we will be adding a very exciting silent auction to benefit the Cornell Club of Cape Cod Scholarship Fund. Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on many wonderful items including gift certificates for area restaurants, health clubs, massages, nail salons, and Cornell memorabilia. For the silent auction, please bring cash or checks as we cannot accept credit cards at the silent auction.
