For hanami, the traditional Japanese custom of “flower viewing,” CAAA is working with the National Museum of Asian Art at the Smithonian to help alumni celebrate virtually this year with a private cherry blossom art tour!

The revered sakura, or cherry blossom, has been celebrated in landscapes, figure paintings, and prints by artists from medieval Japan to Katsushika Hokusai and beyond. Join Dr. Yuan Liu in a highly interactive tour of the museum’s Japanese art collections, and come away with a greater appreciation of the symbolism of the cherry blossom in Japanese culture.

This is a limited time tour for cherry blossom season, and attendance will be capped to the first 40 registrants. We will also make a wait list available, so if you find that you can no longer attend this private tour, please email us at caaa.programming@gmail.com, so that we can offer your spot to the next person on the waitlist.
