We will need volunteers on Saturday both for the selling floor, and then for the sorting and boxing of items to be donated to various charities. Saturday sale hours are 10 AM -2 PM. Volunteers will be needed from 9:30 until all remaining items are packed ready for their next stop. This project will raise support funds for the Armory, give new use for unused items and an opportunity for buyers to acquire clothing and household items they could not otherwise afford. The final day will complete the repurposing of donated items by moving them to other worthy charities to serve additional members of the community.
The Armory Art Center will be holding it’s major fundraiser the week of January 18-21. The proceeds will go to help underwrite the Armory’s community outreach programs, including BraveheARTS for military veterans, Art of the PHONEX for at risk teens, the Scholastic Art Awards, and school students through camp and class scholarships.
Deluxe repurposing is the theme of ARTISTRY. We have accumulated Vintage and designer clothing, tabletop items and artwork no longer used, which will move to new homes, with new families and into new closets. Giving new life to old items is recycling at its best. Every item has been donated.
Wednesday evening is a cocktail party and sale at $175 pp. Thursday, Friday and Saturday are sale days designed for working people with varying shopping times planned, a $10 donation admits one. Saturday is the final sale day. Everything must be moved on…unsold clothing will be donated to Dress for Success, tabletop items to various not for profit thrift stores, and art work to nursing homes and schools.
