Students Fashion Forward: Dazzling Designs Delight in Barton Hall Stories You May Like With Her Name Restored, Alum Can Again Say ‘Yes’ to the Dresses Cornell Fashion Collective Spotlights Big Red Design Flair At the Cornell Fashion + Textile Collection, History Is Always in Style Always a spring highlight, the Cornell Fashion Collective’s runway show had eye-popping ensembles—and moms as models! By Joe Wilensky Sartorial styles were on glorious display at the Cornell Fashion Collective’s 41st Annual Spring Runway Show, held in Barton Hall in March 2025. The Human Ecology event, mounted by the student-led organization, had a fun family twist this year: several designers asked their mothers to model their ensembles for the show. Originally known as the Cornell Design League, the Collective was founded in 1984—not only to provide an annual stage for student designers’ fashion creations, but to showcase the myriad skills needed to put on a successful runway show. A dress by Moore, whose collection imagined an underwater city near Haiti where history, mythology, and fashion intertwine.
