About Cornellians The mission of Cornellians is to engage and inspire alumni throughout their lifetime by informing, entertaining, and connecting the Big Red community around the globe. With a lively and welcoming voice, this digital-first publication keeps readers up to date with Cornell life today; shares stories from the University’s rich and compelling history; celebrates the diversity of Cornell; and showcases the accomplishments of its graduates, faculty, and students as they seek (as founder Ezra Cornell himself put it) ‘to do the greatest good’ and make a difference in the world. For Big Red alumni worldwide Cornellians is a reader-focused digital-first publication for all Cornell University alumni, combining the best of the former Cornell Alumni Magazine and Ezra magazine and expanding their content and readership, while also creating an online community where all Cornellians can join the conversation. The publication aims to leverage the digital environment through lively prose, imagery, and video, as well as other multimedia and interactive formats. As is reflected in its name, alumni voices will populate much of its content—not only as interview subjects but through Class Notes columns, reader-submitted Updates from Alumni, and commentary on stories. Ultimately, Cornellians will be just one element of a larger online hub for alumni that will be developed in the future. Also in the works is a print version, available by paid subscription, that will feature some of our content. Cornellians is produced by its editorial staff in partnership with the Division of Alumni Affairs and Development and with Cornell Brand Communications within the Division of University Relations. It is advised by an alumni committee, including several members with decades of experience in publishing and communication. The Cornellians staff and its partners are thrilled to share this evolving publication with you and are eager to see you all engage with it.
