Their protagonist is an American financial executive who takes a job at bank in Latvia—his parents’ native country—with hopes of battling economic fraud, only to find himself in the midst of deadly intrigue: his new employer proves to be a shady outfit with evil intent. Framed for murder, he goes on the run—trying not only to clear his name but to foil a plot that could lead to governmental upheaval and even war. The globe-trotting plot makes stops in Iceland, Moscow, Ukraine, and beyond.
