The good Cornellians can do: Kristin Vyhnal ’02, DVM ’06
Since graduating, Kristin Vyhnal '02, DVM ’06 has enjoyed mentoring other veterinary students, new veterinarians, and now high school students through the Big Brothers/Big Sisters (BBBS) Mentor2.0 program.
Kristin saw a flyer for the BBBS program three years ago, when she moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to work as a veterinary anatomic pathologist at Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute.
“I thought that trying the next age group down from college seemed like a good plan, so I signed up,” Kristin says. “And, because I enjoy mentoring so much, I continue to find new pre-vet students to mentor, as well as maintain contact with the undergrads I once taught who have now completed vet school. I’ve had several mentees, each more rewarding than the next!”
