Jeff Drayer (A&S ’93) began writing as a medical student at Duke University, where his essays on life in medical school were published as a collection titled The Cost-Effective Use of Leeches. He then moved to Los Angeles to practice as a dermatologist, but found himself drawn to television, and began writing on NBC’s Mercy in 2009. Next, he spent 6 seasons on Royal Pains, and 7 more on Chicago Med. He currently lives in Brentwood with his wife Natalie, also a writer, and two sons Max and Hank.
