A Wild Adventure Awaits at the Bronx Zoo!
Come join us for a memorable spring day at the Bronx Zoo! Matthew Gazzola ’23, a keeper in the Mammal Department, will be sharing exclusive insights into the zoo’s current exhibits, their fieldwork, and what it’s really like to work as a zookeeper.

Afterward, you’ll have the chance to ask questions during a Q&A session and then explore the zoo at your own pace! This event is perfect for families, animal lovers, and anyone who wants to experience the Bronx Zoo like never before!

About Matthew Gazzola ’23

Matthew Gazzola is a Wild Animal Keeper in the Mammal Department at the Bronx Zoo, working primarily in the Congo Gorilla Forest and Madagascar. He works with a plethora of species, including gorillas, okapis, lemurs, sea lions, and more. After graduating from Cornell in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science, Matthew completed a six-month fellowship program in the Bronx Zoo’s Mammal Department and was promoted to a full-time keeper upon its conclusion.

He is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Biology through Miami University’s Advanced Inquiry Program, which is based at the zoo. Matthew enjoys sharing his passion for wildlife and for the Bronx Zoo with others and hopes to inspire people to get involved in the zoo’s mission of saving species worldwide.
