The good Cornellians can do: Serena Elavia MBA ’20

Serena Elavia MBA '20 (left) volunteered with iMentor and helped this high school student successfully apply to college.

During her time working at Citibank in NYC, Serena Elavia MBA '20 served as a mentor to two high school students to help them navigate the college application process. In addition to working as a mentor herself, she also served as Citi's iMentor volunteer ambassador—helping to recruit other Citi employees to the mentorship program.

The iMentor organization matches college grads with high school youth, to help them achieve their college dreams.

“I mentored two fabulous young women,” Serena says, “helping them write their college essays, pick out the schools they want to apply to, and do virtual tours of schools. It's been amazing to see these two young women grow into college students!”

Cornellians around the globe are sharing how they do good in communities big and small. Share your own story.
