Barking up the Right Tree-New Strategies to Treat Lymphoma

Dogs are more than man’s best friend; they can help us learn how to treat cancer (and other diseases) better too! Dr. Richards will explain the advantages to doing clinical trials with pet dogs as a way to speed new treatments to both dogs and humans. She will use her work developing new therapies for lymphoma as an example of how dogs can provide advantages that are not possible with traditional models. She will explain how her collaborations with veterinary oncologists may provide a new and better way to develop new cancer therapies, with advantages for both pets and people.
