Nicole Fernandez, assistant professor of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, and her students have been monitoring Cascadilla Creek on a daily basis. According to their data, as the phosphorus-rich water flowed into Cayuga Lake, it triggered a lake-wide harmful algal bloom (HAB).
