The Cornell Club of Pittsburgh is partnering with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank for a Cornell Cares volunteer opportunity on June 25! The Food Bank’s mission is to feed people in need and mobilize the community, with a goal of ultimately eliminating hunger. The Food Bank will host the Cornell Club for a volunteer day at a “Drive-Up Distribution” event. It takes place outside and provides individuals and families with at least 50 pounds of food in pre-packed boxes. Our group will help load cars with food, so volunteers should be comfortable lifting boxes weighing upwards of 25 pounds for the majority of the event. Distributions are a great way to interact with the community and directly see the positive impact of volunteering! The volunteer shift is scheduled from 9:30 am – 12:00 pm. The Food Bank limits the number of volunteers so be sure to sign-up as soon as possible!
