About the Speaker
Christopher Dunn is The Elizabeth Newman Wilds Executive Director of Cornell Botanic Gardens. He is also adjunct professor of horticulture and a faculty fellow in the Cornell Atkinson Center for Sustainability, and serves on Provost’s Global Migrations Task Force, the Provost’s Public Engagement Council, and the Sustainable Cornell Council. He also serves on the boards of several organizations that work to preserve the world’s biological, cultural, and language diversity.

Dr. Dunn is a botanist and conservation ecologist who has considerable experience studying the relationships between peoples and place, and human impacts on the landscape, with a focus on the relationship between biological diversity and human cultural and language diversity.   

Prior to coming to Cornell, Dr. Dunn was Director of the Lyon Arboretum at the University of Hawaii.  He previously served as Executive Director for Research at the Chicago Botanic Garden and as Director of Research at The Morton Arboretum.
