Calling all beer lovers! Dive deep into the craft beer movement with Mike Reintz ’07, Certified Cicerone® and BJCP (Beer Judge Certification Program) Certified Beer Judge. Mike will discuss the exploding craft beer industry, teach us what beer is and how it’s made.  He will lead us through a tasting with a focus on beer and food pairing, discovering why beer deserves a prominent seat at the table! Learn about this favorite beverage and enjoy a beer-themed reception and buffet brunch with other Cornellians and friends.

About Mike Reintz ’07: While studying engineering at Cornell, Mike Reinitz enrolled in an elective entitled “Understanding Wine & Beer,” a senior-level, Food Science course focused on fermentation biology, beer & wine production, and sensory perception. The course sparked an interest in home brewing and Mike went on to become a Certified Cicerone® as well as a BJCP (Beer Judge Certification Program) Certified Beer Judge. Today, Mike is an exam grader for Cicerone Certification Program, evaluating brewing and beer style essays written by candidates for the Certified Cicerone® certification, and is an East Coast Division Business Analyst for Reyes Beverage Group.

• Polish Kielbasa with Fingerling Potato Hash
• Braised Red Cabbage with Caraway Scented Red Cabbage
• Savory French Toast with Gruyere, Comte and Truffle Cheddar; Cornell Maple Syrup
• Ranch Style Eggs Benedict; Smoked Country Ham, Cheddar Biscuit, Sunny Side Up Egg Charred, Tomato Salsa
• Grilled & Roasted Seasonal Vegetables
