Getting there a little faster

A new Cornell-led study shows that birds may use air turbulence to get where they're going a little faster, with a little less energy. Researchers monitored a golden eagle outfitted with GPS tracking instruments for 17 days and concluded that air turbulence is a source of energy that the eagle (and other birds) use to their advantage.
