NPR's Lulu Garcia-Navarro interviewed Cornell professor Chris Barrett on Sunday, June 6 about challenges to the country's food supply chain in the wake of the pandemic. Barrett explained that the biggest challenges facing restaurants are a labor shortage and the need for suppliers to shift back to servicing restaurants, after spending more than a year servicing grocery stores during the pandemic. Barrett predicts that in time, “things are going to go back, by and large, to the way they were before.”
