ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:

Hollis Thomases ’87 (Arts & Sciences) is an award-winning entrepreneur, digital marketing pioneer, book author, and now-“Reinventionist†who has iterated herself and her career multiple times. Hollis spent the first 10 years of her career working as an employee in sales, marketing, and PR positions. In 1998, she left corporate America to found a digital marketing agency. Hollis crowdsourced solutions before the word came into common use, and she’s done so again to build the ReinventionWorks Team. Hollis is a graduate of Cornell University with a B.A. in Social Relations and a Concentration in Communication Arts. Read about ReinventionWorks here.

 

 

Derrick Bass, Jr. ’06 (Engineering) is the Founder of Clarity Provoked. He graduated with an Industrial Engineering degree and promptly went to work for Goldman Sachs in New York, where he had interned. On an accelerated track and making Vice President within eight years. As someone who had a real zest for life, he had ticked off all the success factor boxes he had laid out for himself, but he felt his energy fading away more and more every day. While still employed, in 2013 he decided to “bring back†who he really was, and his last year in financial services was “fanfrikkintastic.” That renewed energy led Derrick to the path he’s on today, successfully running his own coaching firm where he helps mid-level executives create purpose-driven careers so they can reinvent themselves with clarity and confidence.

 

 

Emily Filloramo ’84 (Human Ecology) a Be More Extraordinary Magician and bestselling author of the book How to Permanently Erase Negative Self-Talk So You Can Be Extraordinary. She will guide you to unleash your true greatness through permanently erasing negative self-talk, fears, and insecurities at the source.  Her professional trainings include Internal Family Systems Modality of Psycho-Spiritual Healing and SELF-leadership and Neuro-Linguistics Programming (NLP). Her combination of life experiences, 27-year career in pharmaceuticals, holistic nutrition expertise, and passions in psychology of peak performance gives her a unique platform to help clients transform emotionally, physically and spiritually. Emily has a B.S. in Nutrition, Cornell Class of ’84.

 

 

Erik Yazdani ’98 (Engineering) is a psychotherapist and career counselor.  As a career counselor, Erik has years of experience helping professionals identify appropriate career paths at MBA, executive-MBA, PhD and other graduate programs.  Through this and other work, Erik helps professionals navigate the intersection between personal values and professional priorities by using one-on-one coaching, personal writing and small group process. Erik holds a Bachelor’s of Science from Cornell University, an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a Masters of Social Work from the NYU Silver School.
