TUESDAY, OCTOBER 27th
8:00PM ET/ 5:00PM PT

This program will explore the role of allies in anti-racist, equity work in the context of Black Lives Matter. We’ll cover concepts such as racism, antiracism, whiteness, and allyship. We’ll also learn how to use the privileges we hold for good in anti-racist work, while also discussing how it’s “not about us” (e.g., when to use our voice, when to pass the mic, when to show up, and when to step back). We will include concrete action items and resources for continued learning and engagement toward allyship. This virtual zoom session consists of mini-lectures, interactive exercises, and facilitated discussion. Join us for a meaningful learning opportunity to advance equity in our personal and professional lives.

Facilitated by:

Shakima M. Clency, Peggy J. Koenig ’78 Associate Dean of Students for Student Empowerment and Director of First-Generation & Low-Income Student Support

Greta Kenney, Associate Dean and Director, Women’s Resource Center
