The Mission District has one of the highest concentrations of mural art of any neighborhood in the United States. The living and breathing mural scene features 500 murals from as early as the 70s through today, covering a variety of themes including social, political, historical, and fun.
In this walk, we will enjoy the mural arts of the most celebrated and concentrated area along 24th Street. During the exploration of the 4 alley ways (Balmy, Luck, Cypress, Lilac), we’ll provide some background of the community-based art form and introduction to some of the pieces there.
Departing at 2 pm from Haus Coffee at 24th and Folsom, the 1.5 hour walk will be followed with a visit to a nearby local restaurant for social drinks and food.
