Please join us for an evening of Cornell camaraderie and insights from popular book discussion leader, Lori Rotskoff.  Lori, a Westchester resident, is a cultural historian and author and will lead a discussion about how reading memoirs can inspire new ideas, cultivate compassion, and enrich your life. Her interactive presentation, “Confessions of a Memoir Addict,” will feature stories from fascinating books that will transport you to a different time and place, allowing you to see the world through someone else’s eyes. She will explore why memoirs have become a best-selling (and sometimes controversial) genre; and offer tips on how to select new titles that are right for you.

About our Speaker
Lori Rotskoff is a cultural historian, teacher, author, and public speaker specializing in memoirs and narrative nonfiction; childhood and youth; women’s and gender issues; and arts and culture. She studied history and literature at Northwestern University and earned a PhD in American Studies at Yale.  

She teaches classes for adults at the 92nd Street Y, the Scarsdale Adult School, and private groups in Westchester County and New York City. Previously, she taught at Yale University, Sarah Lawrence College, and the Barnard Center for Research on Women.

Her book reviews have appeared in the Women’s Review of Books, the Chicago Tribune, and other publications. She lives in Larchmont, New York with her husband and two sons.
