The Coastal Connecticut Cornell Club (CCCC) will hold its Annual Meeting at the Mystic Seaport Museum at 10:00 a.m on Saturday, May 25. Members from all other Cornell Alumni Clubs are invited to attend.

Following the meeting we’ll all adjourn to the Sabino for a cruise down the scenic Mystic River. The Sabino is the oldest and last coal fired steamboat in regular operation in the United States today. She’s a National Historic Landmark vessel and provides a working exhibit of the early American Steamboat Experience. Built in nearby Noank, Connecticut in 1908, she recently returned to the water the Summer of 2017 after a 2 ½ year restoration, which included re-framing much of the stern, installing new decking and planking, and upgrading the boat’s original engine which also involved fabricating a brand new boiler, a feat in itself, since nobody makes these anymore.

The narrated tour will last approximately 90 minutes as we navigate down and back on the Mystic River. Lite-bite sandwich snacks from the Seaport’s catering service will be provided on board as we cruise.

There will be no Seaport Museum admission charge to attend the meeting and/or the cruise. Should Cornell guests wish to tour the entire Museum before and/or after the meeting and boat ride, Non-Seaport Member Cornell guests will be allowed to purchase reduced price Education Admission Rate Tickets at $20 per adult and $11.50 per youth (3-17) when entering the Seaport the day of the Meeting/Cruise. Children 2 and under are free.  Seaport Members, as usual, also enter free. A coupon will be additionally offered Cornell guests for 10% off Mystic Seaport Museum Membership.
