Looking for your next good read? Meet author Pauls Toutonghi ’02/’03/’06, an associate professor of English at Lewis & Clark College whose most recent book, Dog Gone: A Lost Pet’s Extraordinary Journey and the Family Who Brought Him Home addresses universal truths: not only about our relationships with our pets, but also about our childhoods, our children, our families and our world.

Toutonghi will read from his work and discuss it with the books editor for The Oregonian/OregonLive, Amy Wang ’90.

Toutonghi is a first-generation American. He has been awarded a Pushcart Prize, and he has written for The New Yorker, The New York Times, Virginia Quarterly Review, Granta, Tin House, and numerous other periodicals. He received his MFA in poetry and his Ph.D. in English literature from Cornell.

Wang was an editor at The Cornell Daily Sun and is the daughter of a former Cornell librarian. She has worked at The Oregonian, The Philadelphia Inquirer and other media outlets. Her creative nonfiction and essays have appeared in anthologies and periodicals. In addition to a BA from Cornell, she has an MS in journalism from Columbia University.
