Please join us for the Free to Breathe 5K Run / 1 Mile Walk to support our very own Lee Bender ’84 in raising funds for lung cancer research. Lee has been a Cornell Club of Greater Philadelphia board member for over 20 years, and is the Rumsey Scholarship Chair. He was diagnosed with lung cancer four years ago, and is doing well on treatment, but reminds us all that there is much to do to improve care and treatment for lung cancer. Lee has been participating in the walk/run for three years with his team ‘Lee’s Lasers’, coming in the top 5 in fundraising each year.

The morning of the event, please meet Lee and the rest of the team at the stage in front of Memorial Hall, Fairmount Park to meet and walk or run together. Lee wears a red Cornell hockey jersey.

Participants are encouraged to wear Cornell gear or red. Lee will be hosting bagels and coffee back at his house after the event, a 15 minute drive. The address will be provided on that day to the participants.
