Dear Cornell Alumni,

In light of the recent unsettling events and the attention surrounding Cornell, the Cornell Club of MN Board has given considerable thought to whether we should proceed with our bonfire event this Friday.

We recognize that simply moving forward with a traditional, celebratory Cornell event does not feel right given the circumstances. Like many of you, we are heartbroken and conflicted by the current news and have struggled with how best to respond.

We have come to feel that gathering together as a community of Cornellians may be more important than ever in this difficult moment. We have therefore decided to continue with the event, although it will look and feel quite different from years past. There will be no Cornell-themed programming or pictures placed on our social media pages. Please dress however you feel comfortable.

We hope you’ll join us for a relaxed evening of conversation and connection with fellow Cornell alumni, with no formal agenda. A light meal and beverages will still be served. Most importantly, we look forward to seeing many familiar and friendly faces. If you are not ready or unable to attend, we completely understand.
