Hong Kong has become one of Cornell’s most dynamic global touchpoints—home to a groundbreaking veterinary education partnership, a vibrant alumni community, and an expanding network of student and faculty collaborations. This session of Big Red, Global View spotlights how Cornell’s work in Hong Kong is advancing innovation, deepening cross-institutional relationships, and creating impact across technology, public health, education, and entrepreneurship.

Featuring faculty leaders and a prominent alumni innovator, this one-hour conversation will highlight Cornell’s longstanding commitments and emerging opportunities in Hong Kong, with stories that bring to life the power of global collaboration.

This virtual program is open to Cornellians worldwide.

Dr. Caroline Yancey, Associate Dean for International Programs, Professor of Practice, Department of Public and Ecosystem Health
Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine

Dr. Yancey will share the story of Cornell’s influential partnership with the City University of Hong Kong—the institution that now houses Hong Kong’s first and only veterinary college. She will discuss how faculty exchanges, collaborative research, and joint training programs are strengthening veterinary medicine and public health across the region.

Dr. Dan Luo, Professor, Biological and Environmental Engineering
Cornell College of Engineering/Cornell College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
Dr. Luo will highlight student and faculty engagement with Hong Kong partners through Cornell’s Global Hubs network, including innovative research collaborations and student-led entrepreneurship achievements. His segment will explore how Cornell students connect with Hong Kong’s thriving academic and innovation ecosystem.

Benjamin Li ’07 (A&S)
Head of APAC, Triatomic Capital • President, Cornell Club of Hong Kong
A leader in Hong Kong’s tech and innovation community, Benjamin Li will offer an alumni perspective on how Cornellians are shaping Hong Kong’s evolving technology landscape. From emerging applications of AI to cross-border collaboration, he will reflect on how Cornell alumni contribute to innovation in Hong Kong and how initiatives like the Cornell Tech Forum bring together global Cornell talent.
