SUMMARY:The 2026 International Spirit of Zinck's Night in Düsseldorf
DESCRIPTION:The Cornell Club of Germany\, Düsseldorf Chapter\, warmly invites you to our Zinck’s Night celebration! \nJoin us for an evening of connection\, conversation and Cornell spirit in Düsseldorf! \nDATE: Thursday\, October 15\, 2026\nTIME: 5:30-7:30pm local time in Düsseldorf\nLOCATION: Brauerei „Im Füchschen“\, Ratinger Str. 28 D-40213 Düsseldorf\nQUESTIONS: Contact Jette Schreiber LLM ’99 at JetteSchreiber@gmx.de \nTHE HISTORY BEHIND THE INTERNATIONAL SPIRIT OF ZINCK’S NIGHT. HOW IT ALL BEGAN.  \n“We’ll all have drinks at Theodore Zinck’s\, when I get back next fall!†goes “Give My Regards to Davy\,†the timeless Cornell fighting song. But just who exactly is Theodore Zinck?  \nTheodore Zinck was an Ithaca saloon owner whose pub\, the Hotel Brunswick\, was a popular haunt for Cornellians in the 1890s. When he died in 1903\, a series of bars on and around Collegetown adopted his name over the years. The last one closed in the 1960s\, and Cornellians started commemorating the spirit of Zinck’s Night by gathering at an establishment on a Thursday night\, once a year. This tradition of undergraduates coming together to enjoy camaraderie and refreshments has grown into a gathering for Cornellians of all stripes everywhere.
