Event Details

The Coastal Connecticut Cornell Club, the Cornell Club of Fairfield County, and the Cornell Club of Greater Hartford invite alumni, family, and friends in Connecticut and surrounding areas to join us for a pre-game reception and dinner before this season’s Cornell Yale Hockey game in New Haven.

The evening will be held at the New Haven Lawn Club and kicks off with a reception at 4:30. But this year, our get-together will be special. After four years as a Cornell hockey player and 30 years behind the bench as Cornell Hockey’s Head Coach, Mike Schafer ’86, will be retiring at the end of this season. As we all know, Mike has had an illustrious career at Cornell, and we all want to thank him for it. He will make some remarks at 5 PM after receiving well wishes from Greater Hartford’s own Elisabeth de’Ath, Mike’s classmate and close friend. A full buffet from salad to dessert will follow.  Parking is free at the Lawn Club, and vehicles can be left there for both the dinner and the game. It’s a short two to three block walk to Ingalls Rink from the Club.

Be sure to follow the steps further down this page to separately purchase tickets for the hockey game (they are not included in your pre-game dinner registration). Thank you!
